- How long after you knew about airplanes did you take your first flight? How would you compare your subsequent flights to that first flight?
- What recollection do you have of the time you made the commitment to be a follower of Christ? What day of the week was it? Where did it happened? How old were you and what life events were you experiencing at the time?
- Which of these terms best describe what happened to you when you received Christ?
You were rescued; You were found; You accepted God’s invitation; You were delivered; You received new life; You were transformed; You were transferred from darkness to light; You were born again; You were healed; You were set free;
You became a member of God’s family; Other
- How do you know that what you claim to have happened to you is true?
- Which of these life-related topics are you most comfortable speaking about with others: your age, your profession, your family, your marriage, your weight, your health, your faith, your habits, your finances, your education, your political affiliation, your church, your knowledge of the Bible? Which of these bring you great discomfort and why?
- Jesus shared the gospel with a Samaritan woman; Philip shared the gospel with an Ethiopian man; Peter shared the gospel with a Roman; Paul shared the gospel with many Jews. In all these instances, these people believed in Jesus and became his followers. What can you identify as the most noticeable change that has occurred in your life since you decided to be a follower of Christ?
- The Scripture states that God has commanded people everywhere to repent, Acts17: What is your understanding of the fate of those who do not obey this command to repent? How would you explain the term “repent” based on your own action?
- Many persons have written poems and songs about the change that Christ has brought in their lives. Using 1 John 1:5-10, or Romans 10:8-13, write a poem or song about your experience with Christ. Or if you journal, write a one pager entitled: My Life’s Most Significant Encounter.
